Penciled note on front fly leaf of atlas: "J. Robinson's. N.B.--The Journal and appendix illustrative of these charts, maps and surveys, were lent by me to Mr. J.Q. Adams, secretary of state, of the United States, in 1824, and have not been returned, in consequence, as he stated, of their being mislead [sic] Only one copy besides mine referred to, are in the United Stes, and that in the hands of Mr. Foresyth--chairman of the committee of foreign relations. J.R.--. Washington city February 1826."
