Habrecht, Isaac (1589-1633 o 1634)
Vida
No es mucho lo que se puede averiguar de la vida de Isaac Habrecht. Sabemos que nació en Estrasburgo en 1589, en una familia de relojeros suizos procedentes de Schaffhausen (Suiza), cuyo padre, también Isaac Habrecht (1544-1620), trabajó en la catedral de Estrasburgo, donde construyó un reloj astronómico de carrillón entre 1571 y 1574 en compañía de su hermano Josias (1552-1575). Nuestro Habrecht fue doctor en Medicina y en Filosofía, y profesor de Astronomía y Matemáticas en su ciudad natal. Murió en Estrasburgo en 1633 o 1634.
Entre otras cosas, Habrecht fue un conocido astrólogo (Prognosis astrologica. Grosse Practica auff das Jahr nach der Geburt unsers Herren und Heilans Jesu Christi MDCXII […], Antonius Bertram, Estrasburgo, 1612) que elaboró un planisferio (el Planiglobium coeleste et terrestre, Iacobus ab Heyden, Estrasburgo, 1628).
Isaac Habrecht, por lo que nos interesa a nosotros, es autor de una Ianua linguarum en dos versiones, similar a la publicada en Salamanca en 1611 por los jesuitas irlandeses William Bathe (1564-1614) y su hermano John Bathe (¿?-¿?), así como Stepehen White (1574-1646), del Real Colegio de Nobles Irlandeses. Habrecht dio a la luz la primera de sus versiones en 1624 con cuatro lenguas (latín, alemán, francés y español), y la segunda cinco años más tarde con seis lenguas (latín, alemán, francés, italiano, español e inglés). La diferencia estriba en que en la segunda se añadieron el italiano y el inglés. En ambas aparece un índice final de las voces recogidas en el cual se remite a la centuria (conjunto temático de cien enunciados en los que se emplean las palabras de un mismo ámbito designativo) en que aparece la voz en cuestión, bidireccional, latín-alemán y alemán-latín, un verdadero diccionario con estas lenguas. El repertorio fue elaborado con el fin de facilitar el aprendizaje de las lenguas contenidas en él, especialmente dirigido a los hablantes de alemán. La versión en seis lenguas tuvo una reedición al año siguiente de aparecer (1630).

The browser
Performing a search in the BVFE is very simple. Either write the word or string of words in our browser, search for a specific category, or perform an alphabetical search by choosing a letter.
Advanced filters
In addition, all of our records contain several fields. To search for a specific work by date of publication, filter by copy, printer, place of printing, etc., use the Advanced Search.

New bibliographical records
The BVFE regurlaly publishes new bibliographical records. Our team is constantly searching for new entries. We choose our content meticulously and verify our links regularly.
Several times a month
We add new content several times a month. We gradually add more content to existing entries, and likewise add more categories and subcategories as future needs require reclassification.

Sharing options
You can send any BVFE entry to a friend, partner, researcher or any person interested in history of the Spanish language. To do so, press the button "Recommend" found under each file and send the entry to an email address.

We have also included a sidebar on the left of the screen which can be used to share on social media, select the BVFE as a favourite in your web browser, etc. On tablets and phones the share option will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

When any category of the BVFE loads, you will see an RSS icon. Clicking on it allows you to join the feed and receive updated information for the category you have subscribed to. If your browser does not allow you to subscribe to an RSS source, you may need to install a plugin. You can also subscribe via RSS to receive updates directly in your email. Printing bibliographical records
All of the bibliographical records that are in the BVFE can be printed. Click on the "Print" button located below each record. A new window will open with the content of the file ready for printing.
Printing the works
The BVFE does not own the intellectual property rights to the entries, it only selects, organizes and indicates the sites where they are located. As such, it is impossible to print the copies from the BVFE. You must agree to the legal conditions of the websites that contain the copies.

Extensions
We are currently devising several extensions for the website. We will gradually integrate upgrades and more functions. The BVFE welcomes any suggestions that our users may have.
Submission of new URLs
Clicking on the + sign located on the dropdown tab at the top of the website will take you to a form that has a field where you can send a URL address that has not yet been included in the BVFE. It is simple to use: just indicate the URL of the entry and we will do the rest, after completing the corresponding checks.
