Bordás, Luis (1798-1875)
Vida
Luis Bordás Munt (o Lluís Bordas i Munt), historiador y filólogo, nació en Barcelona en 1798. Fue profesor de lenguas (francés e italiano) en la Real Casa de la Lonja y en la Escuela de Nobles Artes de Barcelona, y catedrático del Instituto de Enseñanza Media de esta ciudad (en 1857). Murió en Barcelona en 1875.
Bordás fue autor, entre otras obras de diversa índole, algunas de tema histórico, otras de carácter didáctico (por ejemplo, la Colección de temas para ejercitarse en la traducción del catalán al castellano, y practicar las reglas de la gramática castellana, de 1824), de una gramática latina (1846), de otra italiana, la Gramática italiana adaptada al uso de los españoles (1830), publicada en cinco salidas diferentes, además de un Compendio de gramática italiana formado sobre los mejores autores (1824), y de dos francesas: la más antigua es una versión del Arte de hablar bien francés (1781) de Pierre Nicolas Chantreau (1741-1808), que gozó de varias ediciones, y la otra una Gramática práctica para aprender a leer, hablar y escribir el idioma francés (1856), de la que, al menos, se hicieron tres ediciones. Es, igualmente, autor de unas Lecciones elementales de gramática castellana (1851) con las que quería alcanzar a todos los públicos para difundir su conocimiento, sin hacer aportaciones a la teoría gramatical de su tiempo, si bien incorporó la doctrina de Salvá, así como la de Bello. Entre su labor lexicográfica cabe mencionar que formó parte de la sociedad de catalanes que compuso el Diccionari catalá-castellá-llatí-francès-italià (2 vols., Imprenta de Josep Torner, Barcelona, 1839), publicado por fascículos, así como haber sido coautor de la edición de la obra con el castellano como lengua de las entradas.

The browser
Performing a search in the BVFE is very simple. Either write the word or string of words in our browser, search for a specific category, or perform an alphabetical search by choosing a letter.
Advanced filters
In addition, all of our records contain several fields. To search for a specific work by date of publication, filter by copy, printer, place of printing, etc., use the Advanced Search.

New bibliographical records
The BVFE regurlaly publishes new bibliographical records. Our team is constantly searching for new entries. We choose our content meticulously and verify our links regularly.
Several times a month
We add new content several times a month. We gradually add more content to existing entries, and likewise add more categories and subcategories as future needs require reclassification.

Sharing options
You can send any BVFE entry to a friend, partner, researcher or any person interested in history of the Spanish language. To do so, press the button "Recommend" found under each file and send the entry to an email address.

We have also included a sidebar on the left of the screen which can be used to share on social media, select the BVFE as a favourite in your web browser, etc. On tablets and phones the share option will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

When any category of the BVFE loads, you will see an RSS icon. Clicking on it allows you to join the feed and receive updated information for the category you have subscribed to. If your browser does not allow you to subscribe to an RSS source, you may need to install a plugin. You can also subscribe via RSS to receive updates directly in your email. Printing bibliographical records
All of the bibliographical records that are in the BVFE can be printed. Click on the "Print" button located below each record. A new window will open with the content of the file ready for printing.
Printing the works
The BVFE does not own the intellectual property rights to the entries, it only selects, organizes and indicates the sites where they are located. As such, it is impossible to print the copies from the BVFE. You must agree to the legal conditions of the websites that contain the copies.

Extensions
We are currently devising several extensions for the website. We will gradually integrate upgrades and more functions. The BVFE welcomes any suggestions that our users may have.
Submission of new URLs
Clicking on the + sign located on the dropdown tab at the top of the website will take you to a form that has a field where you can send a URL address that has not yet been included in the BVFE. It is simple to use: just indicate the URL of the entry and we will do the rest, after completing the corresponding checks.
