Junius, Hadrianus (1511-1576)

Vida

El flamenco Adriaans de Jonghe o Hadrianus Junius, con el nombre latinizado por el que se le conoce, nació y murió en Horn, Holanda, aunque realizó numerosísimos viajes y estancias en el extranjero. Estudió en Halem y Lovaina antes de marcharse a París y después a Bolonia, para continuar su formación. Después estuvo en varios países europeos ejerciendo la medicina y con otros encargos. Gracias a su interés y a sus viajes sabía flamenco, francés, alemán, italiano e inglés, además del latín y el griego, y dominaba el español. Fue un hombre de amplísimos conocimientos, científicos y humanistas, médico doctorado en la disciplina en la Universidad de Bolonia, poeta, filósofo, historiador y lingüista, que colaboró en la revisión del Lexicon graecolatinum denuo impressum […] de Conrad Gesner (Hieronymus Curionis, Basilea, 1548). Joost Lips o Justus Lipsius (1547-1606) lo consideró como el flamenco más erudito después de Erasmo.

  • Nomenclator, omnivm rervm propria nomina variis lingvis explicata indicans: Hadriano Ivnio medico avctore, Christophe Plantin, Amberes, 1567. Tuvo muchas ediciones posteriores en las que cambiaba el título y el número de lenguas.

The BVFE regurlaly publishes new bibliographical recordsLatest bibliographical records. Our team is constantly searching for new entries. We choose our content meticulously and verify our links regularly.

Several times a month

We add new content several times a month. We gradually add more content to existing entries, and likewise add more categories and subcategories as future needs require reclassification.

Printing the works

The BVFE does not own the intellectual property rights to the entries, it only selects, organizes and indicates the sites where they are located. As such, it is impossible to print the copies from the BVFE. You must agree to the legal conditions of the websites that contain the copies.

Extensions

We are currently devising several extensions for the website. We will gradually integrate upgrades and more functions. The BVFE welcomes any suggestions that our users may have.

Submission of new URLs

Clicking on the + sign located on the dropdown tab at the top of the website Refer a URL or make a suggestion will take you to a form that has a field where you can send a URL address that has not yet been included in the BVFE. It is simple to use: just indicate the URL of the entry and we will do the rest, after completing the corresponding checks.
