Kroeh, Charles Frederick (1846-1928)

Vida

En 1894 comenzó a dirigir The Summer School of Modern Languages en Point O’Woods (Long Island, Nueva York, EE.UU.). Falleció en EE.UU., probablemente en Hoboken, en 1928.

Charles Frederick Kroeh fue autor –y editor– de métodos de enseñanza de segundas lenguas: The pronunciation of German (s. n., s. l., 1884), The living method for learning how to think in German (4ª ed., Charles Frederick Kroeh, Londres y Hoboken, 1892), The pronunciation of French; a progressive study of the sounds of the French language, wih directions for producing them accurately (Charles Frederick Kroeh, Hoboken, 1884), The living method for learning how to think in French (2ª ed., Charles Frederik Kroeh, Londres y Hoboken 1892), A three-year preparatory course in French (3 vols., Charles Frederik Kroeh, Londres y Hoboken, 1897-1899). También teorizó sobre la enseñanza del español a angloparlantes: The pronunciation of Spanish in Spain and America, de la que publicó una edición revisada (The pronunciation of Spanish in Spain and America; a progressive study of the sounds of the Spanish language, with directions for producing them accurately, Charles Frederick Kroeh, Hoboken, 1893) y The living method for learning how to think in Spanish, que superó la decena de ediciones en el siglo XX. The two classes of nouns», etc.).
